Gasius

Russell Maurice, Better known as "Gasius" is an English born artist and creative now living in Tokyo, Japan. 

Gasius has been making clothing for 25 years now. Founded by artist Russell Maurice, starting as a skate label back in 1993, Gasius was born out of an older underground label; ‘The Gasface’. They were the first apparel label in the UK to print graffiti on T-shirts.

The brand has worked with many of the world’s leading companies such as: Givenchy, Medicom, Stussy and Nike. Maurice's current work of art consists of abstract paintings combined with animation and manga elements, three-dimensional works of various mediums, collages and a few photographs, and has entered a new stage of the "Comic Abstraction Movement".

As a worshipper of books and zines, Gasius' influences and inspiration draw from a range of miscellaneous topics, generating a boldly unique visual outcome.
